What is somatics?

Somatic practices are an umbrella term for movement & body based healing modalities that tap into the wisdom of the body & the nervous system in healing traumatic memories & improving stress resilience.

Somatics are also incredibly powerful in helping in the release of stuck emotions that you may not even have a conscious memory or understanding of.

About the event:

  • Are you struggling with a busy mind and feel overwhelmed by all your to do's?

  • Do you sometimes find it hard to express how you feel & shut down instead?

  • Do you ever turn to coping behaviours in an attempt to "feel better"?

Somatic work can be incredibly powerful in stress & trauma release & will also help you find more peace & clarity about your emotional landscape.

All without the need to talk about private & often confronting feelings!

This is a group class designed to help you get in touch & create a relationship with your emotions & let them move through you.

With the help of movement & music, you will be able to move from a cerebral, ‘thinking’ place to a deep embodied state that allows for understanding, acceptance & release.

It is my belief that the body is infinitely wise & is here to guide us toward better self-awareness & emotional literacy.

What to expect?

  • A combination of movement (intuitive & guided)

  • Breathwork

  • Music

  • Meditation/Visualisation

  • And teachings on energetic & emotional alignment with prompts for self inquiry.

I carefully curate a playlist for each session so it’s aligned with the theme of our self inquiry.

  • I just danced with Hedi & following the gorgeous, grounding, heart opening meditation, I felt more able to deeply connect within. The dance then allowed energy to shift and it ended with me feeling so joyful and liberated, like something had shifted and lifted. Dance is so powerful for conscious connection because it's really hard to be in your head when your body is moving. And the great thing about it is that it doesn't end when the dancing stops! The healing continues in the background. It's beautiful & Hedi is a perfect guide for this kind of work. Her gentle yet powerful energy creates a safe space for release.
